Peter Brueur SIBA artistic directorPrincipal and Artistic Adviser Salzburg Ballet Choreographer, Coach and Master class teacher.

Peter Breuer was born in Tegernsee ,Germany , the son of Pianist and Conductor Peter Bruno Breuer. At the age of eleven he began ballet lessons with Gustav Blank, Vaganova School of St.Petersburg. Peter also had his first contract 15 years old at the Bavarian State Opera Munich. followed at the age of 17 by a soloist contract with the “Ballett of the Deutsche Oper am Rhein Dusseldorf/ Duisburg.  Peters international career began in 1969 as a principal dancer, guest star with the world famous “London Festival Ballet” 1971 which led to a permanent engagements with “The Deutsche Oper Berlin” and the “Bavarian State Opera Ballet Munich”. In 1973 Peter became a permanent member of he “London Festival Ballet”.

1979 he was a guest dancer with “American Ballet Theatre”, PETER BREUER TEACHING SIBA “Balletto de la Scala Milan”.
Tours led him to Australia, South America, Spain , Yugoslavia, Polen, France, Czech Republic, U.S.A, Venezuela ,Japan and the Philippines
Through the 1980`s Peter Breuer was considered one of the leading dancers of the international Ballet world.

Peter’s first Choreography performed in 1981 at the “Bavarian State Opera”. The “Deutsche Oper am Rhein”, “The German State Opera Berlin” and the “Budapest State Opera” .He also created two full evenings Ballets , Tchaikovsky and Siegfried ,for “The State Ballet of Karlsruhe” Germany.

From the Season 1991/1992 until 2019 he was the Ballet director and resident choreographer of “The State Theatre of Salzburg” ( Salzburg Ballet ). He is known for his tradition of “storytelling” ballets. He has received high acclaim by critics and audiences for his ballets like: Peer Gynt, Orpheus and Eurydike, A Midsummer nights Dream, Marylin ,Romeo and Julia, Sleeping Beauty Therese Raquin, Tchaikovsky , Carmen, as well as his innovative ballets such as Angels, Lulu and Bach and Drums” and  The Wall.

In 2011/2012 he created the Ballet Elements” as well as PETER BREUER TEACHING SIBA 6Beatles, and later Ballet and Blues. His most recent ballets included Marie Antoinette, a modern version of The Puppenfee. In the season 2013/2014 he choreographed a new version of Swan Lake The ballet season of 2013/2014 opened with his production of Nutcracker as well the Rock ballet Dance for Satisfaction in Munich, the “Deutsche Oper am Rhein”, the German State Opera Berlin and the Budapest State Opera.He created two full evenings Ballets “Tchaikovsky” and “Siegfried”, for the “State Ballet of Karlsruhe” GPETER BREUER TEACHING SIBA 6ermany.

Then follows 2015 Mythos Coco and Deadly Sins. In 2016 Gesualdo and Forever 27. In 2017 Peter created Cinderella with the Mozarteum Orch. Salzburg. And in 2018 Moonwalk  forœThe Salzburg Ballet. All in all a total of 55 full-length Ballets.  In 2017 his Bolero was performed with enormous success in Tokyo with the Asami Maki Ballet.  Peter Breuer received the Great Cross of Honor of the Austrian Government and momentarily the German Dance /Ballet Prize 2015 for his lifework as a dancer and choreographer. This is the highest dance award in the dance world from Germany, Austria and Switzerland. In 2017 he achieved also the title of Professor by the Austrian President.PETER BREUER TEACHING SIBA 6

Since 2019 Peter is the resident choreographer for the Europaballett where he also teaches in the Konservatorium.
Presently Peter creates for The Europaballett Madame Butterfly. The premiere will be in may 2021 in Novi Sad as a European Project . Peter is touring with The Europaballett with his choreography of Mythos Coco, madame Butterfly and Best of Peter Breuer to Germany, Switzerland, Hungary and Serbia. Ever since 2004 Peter is also, among his other occupations, the Artistic Director of the SIBA Salzburg International Ballet on a voluntary basis, every summer.
